Healthy Living: How Do You Pass the Time?

I am now a stay at home mom and so the refrigerator is really close. Do you ever just open the pantry door and let your eyes roam though every product in there. Most of the time when I do this, I am not even hungry just bored or wanting to eat to feel good. While I was working, I was very busy and honestly didn’t have as much time to think about food. I find myself planning the next meal before I finish the one I am eating. Does this sound familiar to you?

Staying focused on the goal is what keeps me on the right track. I have to find ways to keep my mind on other things than food. There are many "guilt free" ways to pass the time. Try a few of mine!

  • Email friends on the computer
  • Go for a casual walk
  • Take a bubble bath
  • Do a load of laundry
  • Call friends or my mother
  • Read a good book
  • Rest! Take a nap if possible.
  • Take your child outside to play

These ideas sound simple but they will work! If you think about the food long enough, you will eventually indulge. Stay strong in the Word of God and keep your mind focused. You will have victory!
